Academic Support Program


Academic Support Program was created to help students improve their grades and become even better students. The program consists of the following services:

The Holaday Center
  • study hall
  • computer access
  • library

Internet Based Educational Programs
  • Accelerated Reader (AR) - Students are required to earn 100 AR points each year by taking a Reading Practice quiz on the AR website https://hosted159.renlearn.com/1449032 Your AR username will be your first initial and the 1st four letters of your last name and your password will be ABCActiveBlocks™
  • Catchup Math - an internet based math program that is linked to our math curriculum College Prep Math (CPM). Students will take a pre-test that assesses their math skills then assigns lessons based on their math level.
  • Grades 6, 9 and 12 are assigned to Type 2 Learn which provides online instruction and exercises that teach and improve students' typing skills
  • Seniors have access to Questia an online resource database that contains "scholarly" references for research papers




Support Classes

  • Students will be assigned to Academic Support by teacher referral based on student performance. Teachers will provide target specific academic intervention to improve students academic performance, understanding of curriculum content, test scores and homework.

Peer Tutors

  • Students are matched with a member of the California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society to receive tutoring in specific academic areas of concern. Students will meet peer tutors in the Holaday Center before-school, lunch or after-school.
